The City of Rochester is reaching into the 716 for help in finding a new class of police officers.

Posters advertising Rochester's upcoming police exam are popping up at NFTA rail stations in Buffalo.

The next entry-level police officer civil service exam is September 15th, but applicants must apply by August 1st.

The starting annual salary is $41,985 plus benefits. Veteran officers can make $73,315 before overtime.

The selection process includes a written examination, a physical agility test, a psychological evaluation, a medical examination, a background investigation and a final interview.

The city expects to welcome 25 to 30 people into its next class of officers.
