Whether you are skilled in electronics, welding, or customer service, Demone Smith, Executive Director of the Buffalo Employment Center says right now is a great time to begin searching for summer employment.
“The prospects are pretty good for employment in the area, you just have to want to get it.”
Smith says each and everyday the career center receives dozens of up to the minute postings for companies in the Western New York area actively seeking employees. This director says the jobs are seeking applicants with an array of skills not just college degrees.
“It’s about what skills you have, what transferable skills you’ve earned at one job that can transfer to another,” Smith tells 7 Eyewitness News.
Smith says job seekers from across the area will have a chance to meet employers face to face in a week filled with job fairs through the Buffalo Works program.
