A jury in North Tonawanda has acquitted a Lockport principal of child endangerment charges.

James Synder, the principal of North Park Junior High, was found not guilty Tuesday afternoon of two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

The Niagara County District Attorney's Office had accused Snyder of crossing the line with his daughter and her 11 year-old friend at his daughter's birthday party last summer.

During his trial, Snyder's daughter testified that her father did nothing wrong.

Synder has been on administrative leave with the Lockport City School District since his arrest last August.

A spokesperson said the district is reviewing the situation and as of now, his employment status with the district remains unchanged.
