A Lockport man has been convicted of a murder-for-hire plot to kill his wife and mother-in-law.
According to the Niagara County District Attorney, Benito Gonzalez was convicted on Friday of two counts of attempted murder in the first degree, two counts of attempted murder in the second degree and criminal solicitation.
Prosecutors say Gonzalez was trying to arrange the murder of the women after they were connected to another case in which he was facing charges.
Gonzalez faces 20 years to life when sentenced in September.
He also faces domestic violence charges against his wife and an indictment for a plot to kill a corrections officer.
