Lockport man confesses to making bomb threat

A Lockport man is facing several charges after police say he made a bomb threat against an apartment.

City of Lockport Police say 43-year-old Robert Williams confessed to reporting the was a bomb in an apartment on Main Street around 11 a.m.  Thursday morning.

Law enforcement evacuated the apartment and closed off the area so that the Erie County Bomb Unit and officials from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms could sweep for explosives.

No bombs or explosives were found.

Police say the Detective Division found Williams a few blocks away, and he became combative and had to be physically subdued.

Williams is charged with Falsely Reporting an Incident, Resisting Arrest and Obstruction of Governmental Administration.

He is being held without bail.
