Lockport man arrested for resisting arrest and drug charges

A Lockport man has been arrested following a theft.

Troopers arrested 30-year-old Jamil T. Alhorebi of Lockport for petit larceny and three counts of of criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was also charged with resisting arrest.

Police arrived at the Walmart in the Town of Lockport as Alhorebi exited the store with stolen merchandise. He attempted to flee on foot when he was approached by police.

After a short pursuit, Alhorebi was taken into custody. He was also found in possession of several narcotics, including cocaine.

Alhorebi was arraigned in the Town of Lockport Court with bail set at $10,000.
