Local soldier dies in Fort Bragg crash

A soldier from Western New York has died following a crash at Fort Bragg.

WTVD, our sister station in Raleigh, reports that Nethaniel H. Wolfson of Geneseo was  soldier with the 82nd Airborne Division.

Wolfson, 22, died Sunday in a single-vehicle crash at Fort Bragg, officials announced Tuesday. He was a signal systems support specialist.

Details about the crash were not released.

"Spc. Wolfson was an incredibly active and jovial Paratrooper who was well-liked and admired by everyone in his unit," said Capt. Isaac J. Gregory, 122nd ASB rear-detachment commander.

Wolfson's awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon.
