Local champion pole vaulter Jenn Suhr is back home in Rochester, but is still seriously unwell.

Suhr was battling a virus while competing in the Olympic games in Rio and unfortunately failed to medal in her event.

Jenn's husband, Rick, spoke with our sister-station 13 WHAM to provide an update on her condition. He says Jenn is now suffering from a "weird" joint pain and is losing weight as well.

When they returned to Rochester, Rick says he took Jenn to the Emergency Room. Doctors ran several tests and were able to rule out certain viruses but couldn't pinpoint her exact illness.

Jenn first got sick on August 11. By the 19th, the day of the finals, the Olympian was reportedly coughing-up blood. Rick describes it as the "most violent, consistent cough" he's ever heard, something comparable to whooping cough, he believes.

Not only is she ill, but her husband says Jenn is "emotionally devastated."
