MOUNT MORRIS, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Livingston County Sheriff's Office announced the death of a Wyoming County man who was electrocuted in a tree removal incident.

The sheriff's office says the incident occurred on Ridge Road in the Town of Mount Morris, 21-year-old Cecil W. Beardslee-West of Perry, N.Y. was electrocuted while holding onto a metal chain which was attached to a crane that was moving logs.

The chain made contact with a power line while he was holding the chain.

The incident remains under investigation.

"On behalf of myself and the members of the Sheriff's Office, our deepest condolences to Cecil's family," said Livingston County Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty. "This is a tragic death and we have Cecil's family, friends and co-workers in our prayers and in our thoughts."
