AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) — “You can get arrow speeds of about 100-200 feet per second,” Jeff Hennard said, President of Double T Archery in Amherst said.

The private club has 50 acres of targets for people to try something new.

“It’s a great discipline you need to have to have such mental focus,” Hannard said.

Taking a mental break and getting outside -- the archery club has kids classes and hosts private lessons for families if they want to try it out.

Hennard said consistency is key to getting a bullseye. It's important to focus on form and even the slightest change can affect the shot.

“If you’re just drawing a bow back and not thinking about your aim, sight picture, and what they call and anchor point not thinking about how far you are pulling back on that bow or gripping the bow you will never be consistent,” Hennard said.

Practice makes perfect, you can call the club for more information if you want to get out and try it.
