BRADFORD, P.A. (WKBW) — A boyfriend and girlfriend are locked up, charged with the abuse of their three-month-old baby girl in Bradford, Pennsylvania.

Bradford police say Alana Dinch and Jonathon Burke are facing felony charges in connection to the abuse, over a two-week period.

Police were called to Bradford Regional Medical Center last Wednesday. They say they found a baby with a "v-shaped" skull fracture and swelling and bleeding on the brain.

According to a police report, "the bleeding on the brain was consistent with shaken baby syndrome."

Bradford police say Dinch admitted to throwing a wooden chair at Burke, hitting the baby in the head with the "pointed part of the chair's back directly striking the infant in the left side of her head."

Police say Dinch took off when someone said they were calling for help. Turns out, police said, neither Dinch nor Burke got help for several days.

They say Dinch said she was frustrated with the baby and squeezed her ten days earlier and shook her three days earlier.

Dinch is charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, three counts of aggravated assault of a child, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.

Burke is charged with endangering the welfare of a child and recklessly endangering another person.

Law enforcement says they are monitoring the child's status. She is still in the hospital at Oishei Children's Hospital in Buffalo.

Both are being held on $50,000 bail. They are due back in court Thursday, 12/27.
