Woman seriously hurt after being struck by car in Amherst

AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) — A woman is seriously hurt after police say she was hit by a car in Amherst, Sunday night.

Authorities say a 30-year-old Madison, Wisconsin man was driving a 2012 Toyota when he struck a 48-year-old woman crossing Sheridan Drive between Bailey Avenue and Sweet Home Road, just after 7:30 p.m.

The woman has been identified as 48-year-old Angelique Houston and she is listed in critical condition at ECMC with head and leg injuries.

Officers say if you have any video or photographic evidence from the scene of the crash, call Amherst police at 689-1311.

No charges have been filed, and the crash is currently under investigation.
