BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A victim has died after being stabbed last Wednesday in Dunkirk.

Dunkirk Police say officers responded to a reported fight in the 100 block of Lincoln Avenue. It happened on Wednesday May 15, 2019 just after 4 p.m.

Police say the victim was stabbed during the altercation and was taken to Brooks Hospital by a personal vehicle. They were later transferred to Erie County Medical Center for treatment, where they later died from her injuries.

Danyell Butts and Doniesha Brown say that victim is their loved one, Jefrena "Frena" Brown. Butts, Frena's cousin, and Brown, Frena's sister, say they want justice for the 15-year-old 9th grader from Dunkirk.

"People need to speak up. It's not hard. We want justice for her. She was a little girl...she didn't have to die like that," Butts said.

This is an ongoing investigation and police are asking anyone with information to contact Dunkirk Police at 716-366-2266 or the confidential tipline at 716-363-0313.
