Woman accused of threatening man with knife and stun gun on I-90

TOWN OF BRANT, N.Y. (WKBW) — New York State police say a Rochester woman was arrested for allegedly threatening man with a knife and a stun gun during an incident on the New York State Thruway.

According to police, 21-year-old Portia M. Henderson of Rochester is accused of throwing an object at another person's car while entering a construction zone on the I-90 in the Town of Brant Sunday.

The driver pulled over and exited their vehicle to check for damage, police say that is when Henderson allegedly approached the driver with a large machete type knife and was pulling the trigger on a stun gun.

The parties then got back in their vehicles and the driver followed Henderson at a safe distance and reported the incident, according to police.

Henderson was stopped and arrested just before exiting the thruway at the Lackawanna toll plaza. Police say the weapons she allegedly used to threaten the other driver were located inside her vehicle.

The other driver was not injured during the incident. Henderson was charged with menacing, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a weapon with intent to use.

She was issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Brant Court on July 23.
