WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. (WKBW) — Western New York will soon take center stage at the Scripps National Spelling Bee!
Adhrit Chowdhury, an eighth grader from Transit Middle School, will head to the competition after winning the Western New York Regional Championship Spelling Bee at SUNY Fredonia.
He beat out 22 other spellers and won by spelling "mortadella."
The Scripps National Spelling Bee kicks off on May 26.
