Ash Wednesday (February 26) marks the beginning of the Lenten season for those of the Christian faith. Lent is a season of prayer and repentance in preparation for Easter. For many Christians, it is customary for a cross of ashes to be placed on the forehead. The idea of Ashes-to-Go began in Chicago in 2010 and has since spread to many congregations nationwide.

If your church is participating in Ashes-to-Go, please send details to or post on the WKBW Facebook page.
