LACKAWANNA, N.Y. (WKBW) — It doesn't matter how much snow falls, Lackawanna residents are ready.
"Were known as the snow city," Joe Lombardo said.
Starting early Sunday morning neighbors were already out clearing their driveway after nearly a foot of snow fell on their town.
“What else do you expect? We’ve been lucky we haven’t had any snow hardly at all. We get hit once and everyone starts to get a little nutty. Get out give 'em a hand and everyone relax," Lester White said.
White is also known as Mr. Plow in his neighborhood. He will use his snow blower to clear the sidewalk and driveways of people who need a little extra help.
“You know some elderly some handicapped people. Same people in the neighborhood. Bill across the street by himself. Most people are by themselves, so just giving them a hand that's all.”
The single digit weather made cleaning a little more difficult. Lombardo's shovel snapped in half when he was nearly finished with his driveway. That didn't stop him from finishing the job. He got a new shovel from his house and cleared the rest of th way.
