BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Since the Toronto Blue Jays announced they would be playing baseball in Buffalo, Sahlen's Packing Co. has seen a huge jump in their recognition.

"We've seen those pockets spike," Michael Eckert of Sahlen's said, "We've seen our name get out there in different spots of the country in retailers we are not currently available in."

The company produces their hot dogs a few streets away from Sahlen Field, and the Buffalo born company saw their name being on the stadium as a perfect pairing.

"What's more synonymous with baseball than hot dogs? It's America's past time," Eckert said.

Having their name on associated with an MLB team is something the company did not see coming when they announced the naming rights for the Bison's home field in 2018.

"It's been a roller coaster to say the least" Eckert said.

The exposure that comes with having the naming rights on a Major League Baseball Stadium can be incredibly valuable. According to media analytics company Joyce Julius & Associates in the first forty days of the 2019 season, the Blue Jays home field of Rogers Center was mentioned in 11,494 news stories -- equating to almost 20 million dollars in exposure.

It's exposure that helped Sahlen launch their new online delivery operation.

"You can now order Sahlen products online and have them delivered right to your door." We have a link on how to do so right here.
