BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — West Seneca Police arrested a suspected bank robber Wednesday night after a short chase.

35-year-old Mitchell Jonathan was wanted for a robbery at an M&T Bank that happened Saturday.

Officers late Wednesday night saw a person pushing a bicycle on Indian Church Road and recognized the man. When officers questioned him, the suspect reportedly gave police a fake name and took off running.

Police later found Jonathan hiding in a yard on Indian Church Road but detectives say he once again took off running. Jonathan was later captured in the backyard of a home on Collins Avenue.

Jonathan is charged with Robbery, Petite Larceny, False Personation, Obstructing Governmental Administration, Resisting Arrest and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.
