BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A popular Western New York grocery chain is donating a large amount of money in the effort to help people who have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

Wegmans says it is donating $4 million to partner food banks across the seven states the company has stores in and in Western New York, including $623,000 to FeedMore WNY.

"At Wegmans, one of our highest giving priorities is providing food for people at risk of hunger," said Michele Mehaffy, the Buffalo Consumer Affairs Manager for Wegmans. "The best way to do this is by supporting local food banks that can provide food directly to people in need."
