CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY (WKBW) — The water restrictions and a boil water order put in place in the Village of Brocton and Town of Portland due to a water main break earlier this week have been lifted.
The restrictions were issued Wednesday, the boil water order was issued Thursday, they were both lifted Sunday.
The Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services was asking all water used for drinking and cooking to be boiled before use, and were urging residents to use bottled water where possible.
Outside water use was not allowed and indoor use was asked to be limited.
Water pressure was low in several areas.
It took crews some time to find the break which caused the restrictions to last for several days.
