Warsaw man injures deputy and investigator during arrest

TOWN OF PIKE, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Wyoming County Sheriff's Office says a Warsaw man is in custody and facing multiple charges stemming from multiple incidents.

Deputies obtained an arrest warrant for 27-year-old Tyler Malik who was taken into custody then released following an October DWAI and DWI. He faced nine charges in connection with the incident, the arrest warrant was for a 10th charge following further investigation.

On November 25th a sheriff's office deputy and an investigator responded to a residence on Prospect Street in the Village of Warsaw to locate Malik and execute the warrant.

Malik attempted to flee on foot but was taken into custody a short time after, he allegedly continued to fight with the deputy and investigator until an officer arrived to assist. The deputy and investigator were injured during the altercation.

He was arraigned on the warrant of arrest and committed to the Wyoming County Jail.

On November 26th Malik was additionally charged for the physical altercation with the deputy and the investigator.

He faces seven charges in connection with the incident including assault in the second degree and resisting arrest.
