Wanted man who fled deputies in North Collins located

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — UPDATE - The Erie County Sheriff's Office says Bowers is now in custody.

ORIGINAL REPORT - The Erie County Sheriff's Office is searching for a wanted man who fled deputies in the Village of North Collins.

29-year-old Joshua Bowers is wanted on multiple outstanding warrants and deputies say he is known to carry a gun.

Bowers was last seen fleeing the scene at Franklin and Main Streets in the Village of North Collins.

The sheriff's office describes Bowers as 5'8", 188 pounds with a thin beard. He was reportedly wearing a blue/green jacket with a hood and a backpack. He is considered armed and dangerous.

The sheriff is urging residents to lock their doors. Call 911 immediately if you see anything suspicious.

The sheriff's Air-1 have been deployed to the area to help with the search. A School Resource office is working with the North Collins School District to implement its lockdown procedures.
