CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WKBW) — Santa and his elves are working hard in the North Pole to get those gifts under the tree by midnight on the 25th. Here in WNY, shoppers are working harder to get those last-minute gifts.

"Usually we're done by now, this is the latest that we've had to come shopping," said Richard Truman of Clarence.

The BFLO Store anticipated the holiday rush.

"It's definitely a lot busier than the usual. I've noticed a lot of people doing last minute shopping because it's easier," said Gena Mattina-Chmiel.

Be careful, last-minute shoppers. Certain items are flying off the shelves.

"Buffalo Bills things seem to be selling a lot quicker than everything else. We just got new playoff t-shirts and playoff hats and those are already sold out," said Mattina-Chmiel.

If you've still got shopping to do, Mattina-Chmiel recommends coming to the Galleria early in the day, rather than later.
