AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) — Town of Tonawanda police say the YouTube video of two men, following a "sex offender" through Tonawanda and Amherst is not real.

A number of people called police, they say, concerned about the video, called "We Followed a Predator Around for 24 Hours (Social Experiment)."

After speaking with the two men in the video, Town of Tonawanda police say the video is not real and was shot for entertainment purposes.

"It is something that has certainly caused alarm," said Town of Tonawanda Police Lt. Tom Haynes.

"They do not know any sexual offenders living in that area of Tonawanda, nor did they witness anyone taking pictures of children outside Chuck E. Cheese," police posted in a Facebook alert.
