Vera closes Hertel Avenue location just two months after opening

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Just two months after opening, the last craft cocktail has been served at Bar Vera on Hertel Avenue.

The business announced on its Facebook page Friday morning that it has closed its location inside the PK Eats food hall effective immediately.

"We no longer feel this collaboration serves our business or meets the standards our customers have come to expect," the post said.

Vera Pizzeria moved to North Buffalo from its longtime home on Lexington Avenue near Ashland in the Elmwood Village in December. At the time, owner Cameron Rector saw the Hertel location as an opportunity to grow business and take Vera in a new direction. The new location featured a garage door that would open in the summer months to a large patio.

The Bar Vera name will remain at PK Eats for up to 90 days due to contractual issues.

"We will be working with our attorneys to consider all legal remedies against PK Eats and its owners," the post said. "Fear not, though, the Vera team is exploring severla new opportunities with the promise to return to the scene as soon as possible in a bigger and better way for our awesome Buffalo customers."

7 Eyewitness News has reached out to the owners of PK Eats for comment. The micro food hall also features Sun Cuisines and Newbury Salads, both of which are unaffected by the closing of Vera.
