Two WNY high schools recognized in FAFSA challenge

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Two Western New York high schools are being honored as part of a statewide challenge. Leonardo DaVinvi High School in Buffalo and Forestville Central High School were both recognized as schools that have some of the highest FAFSA completion rates.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, is a form graduating students can fill out to apply for financial aid to pay for college or career school. The challenge was created by the group "Education Trust - New York. A total of 12 public high schools were recognized.

Both Leonardo DaVinvi High School in Buffalo and Forestville Central High School will get $750 to award a scholarship to a graduating high school senior who is planning to attend college in the fall, and is low-income or a first-generation student.
