Teen dies after being struck by vehicle in Lancaster, another seriously injured

LANCASTER, N.Y. (WKBW) — Lancaster police say one teen has died and another is hospitalized after they were struck by a vehicle Friday night.

The crash occurred around 10 p.m. while the two teens were riding their bikes on Pleasantview Drive, according to officials.

According to police, an 18-year-old male, from East Aurora, died from his injuries. Police say a 17-year-old male, from Clarence, is in stable condition with serious injuries. The names of the victims have not been released at this time.

Police say the driver, 53-year-old Kevin Czajka, immediately fled the scene but was located a short time later by Lancaster police on Hill Valley Drive. Czajka was taken into custody and charged with driving while intoxicated. More charges are expected.

The crash remains under investigation. Officials are looking for any witnesses of the crash, anyone with information is asked to call (716) 683-2800 ext. 123.
