BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Two people have now died following a head-on crash in the Genesee County Town of Bergen.
The Genesee County Sheriff's Office says a car driven by Caroline Bianchi, 74, of Bergen was southbound on Route 19 Thursday afternoon when it crossed into the northbound lane and collided with a minivan driven by Gary Beehler, 82, of Hamlin.
Bianchi was pronounced dead at the scene. Beehler was taken by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, where he later died of his injuries.
Investigators say it is unclear what caused Bianchi to cross into oncoming traffic.
