Two Buffalo women face charges after entering Buffalo school to instigate fight

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Buffalo Police announced two Buffalo women are facing charges after entering a Buffalo school to instigate a fight.

Police say 35-year-old Mercedes Lucas and 29-year-old Jessica Nelson entered Southside Elementary Tuesday morning and entered a classroom with the intent to instigate a fight.

According to police, a fight did occur between two students who are both juveniles, Lucas and Nelson were arrested as a result.

According to Buffalo Police Captain Jeff Rinaldo, when Lucas and Nelson entered the school they were advised not to leave the school's office but proceeded to a classroom.

Rinaldo also says Lucas held the victim down while the juvenile suspect hit her.

Lucas and Nelson face the following charges: acting in a manner injurious to a child less than 17 and criminal trespass.

7 Eyewitness News reached out to the Buffalo Public Schools for comment, a spokesperson says anyone who visits any school must sign in at the office and is not authorized to go anywhere else in the school without an administrative escort.
