Trial of Dollar General shooter expected to be delayed

The trial for the man accused of shooting at the Dollar General in Cheektowaga more than two years ago is expected to be delayed.

7 Eyewitness News has learned jury selection in the Travis Green trial was scheduled to begin December 9. But, Green's attorney, Paul Dell is requesting a competency exam. Dell told 7 Eyewitness News his client is suffering from psychosis.

According to police, on November 14th, 2017 around 2:30 p.m., Travis Green entered the Dollar General off Union Road in Cheektowaga asking for a job application. He allegedly became upset, left the store, and fired multiple rounds at the store with an AR-15 style rifle from the parking lot.

Green's charged with attempted murder, attempted assault, reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of a weapon. He has been held without bail since he was charged.

If convicted, he could face a maximum of 25 years in state prison.
