LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WKBW) — As another summer milestone comes and goes during the COVID-19 pandemic, Transit Drive-In has stepped up to the plate by adding another show to their double feature.

"We've done fireworks here in the past, but we haven't done them since probably the early 1990s," owner Rick Cohen said.

The fireworks happened at dusk, and then the first of two movies on each screen began. Social distancing has still reduced the drive-in to less than half capacity this summer, but the Lockport landmark is finding new ways to get creative.

"We're trying to do things this summer that people aren't able to do elsewhere. For example, concerts, church services, graduations, dance recitals, and now fireworks," Cohen said.

The movies in the double feature Saturday night continue into next week. If you go see Ghostbusters, a portion of all ticket sales will be donated to Toys for Tots.
