Tractor-trailer driver flown to hospital after his truck caught fire

FRIENDSHIP, N.Y. (WKBW) — A truck driver was flown by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester after his tractor-trailer caught fire in the Southern Tier. According to New York State Police the fire happened on I-86 around 5:30, Saturday evening.

The fire happened in the Town of Friendship.

The driver was flown to the hospital because of smoke inhalation.

New York State Police say it's unclear what caused the fire and that it's still under investigation.
