TOWN OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Town of Tonawanda Police Department is asking the public for help in locating the individuals responsible for damaging their SWAT van during the violence following protests in the City of Buffalo.
Police say they sent a SWAT Team to the city on May 30 to assist with the violence and looting.
The SWAT Team then responded to the 7-Eleven located on Niagara Street. According to police, the SWAT Team had to park their van away from the store.
While assisting other law enforcement, officials say the SWAT van was vandalized. The van was later found with broken and shattered windows and several dents.
Police say the cost of damage to the van is over $6,000, which is felony level criminal mischief.
