Arrest made in Town of Tonawanda KeyBank robbery

TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Town of Tonawanda Police announced an arrest has been made following a bank robbery Friday morning.

Police say an unknown male suspect entered the Key Bank at 1930 Niagara Falls Boulevard around 10 a.m. and demanded cash before fleeing the scene on foot.

Shortly after 8:30 p.m. Friday TTPD detectives located and arrested 32-year-old Marcus T. Scott of Buffalo after he was observed walking into a Noco gas station on Niagara Falls Boulevard.

Scott physically resisted arrest but was eventually brought under control inside the store.

During the robbery Scott demanded money from the teller and threatened to shoot everyone but no gun was displayed, he stole $1,200 from the bank which was all recovered.

Scott faces the following charges:

  • Robbery in the first degree
  • Grand larceny in the fourth degree
  • Resisting arrest
  • Menacing

Scott will be arraigned in Town of Tonawanda Court Sunday.
