TOWN OF AURORA, N.Y. (WKBW) — A Town of Aurora woman is accused of killing her cat after it urinated in her house, according to East Aurora police.
Police say officers were called to a home on Lapham Road in the Town of Aurora on January 14th for the report of a woman who killed her cat.
Following an investigation, officers discovered 66-year-old Jan Kaufmann put her cat in a bucket, secured the lid and put it outside after the cat urinated in her home.
Another resident of the home found the bucket, removed the lid and the cat was dead, police say.
Kaufmann was charged with section 353 Agriculture and Markets Law.
East Aurora police are currently working with the Erie County District Attorney's Office to determine if the charge will be upgraded.
