TOWN OF AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Town of Amherst announced the Clearfield and North Forest pools will be open beginning July 6.

To access the pools throughout the summer officials say you will need a 2020 Town of Amherst resident ID car and a reservation. For information on obtaining an ID card you can visit the town website here.

Residents can make reservations by visiting the town website or by calling (716) 631-7132. Reservations will be held a week in advance and there will be four different swim sessions each day of the week. Reservations will be limited to one swim session per day per resident.

Pools will be open to Town of Amherst residents only.

Officials say when you arrive at the pool you will need your resident ID card to check in, you should enter the facility through the building and exit through the outside gates.

No chairs or benches will be available, residents should bring their own chair, blanket or towel. Bathrooms will be available but there will be no access to locker rooms and showers.

Residents are asked to practice social distancing and wear a mask whenever they are not in the pool, on the pool deck or in the grass.
