BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A Tonawanda man is facing charges, accused of stealing a city firefighter's personal vehicle.
32-year-old Ryan Richeal was arrested Tuesday morning for the theft of a 2017 Chevrolet SUV that happened in late July. The car, belonging to a firefighter,was stolen while the man was working his overnight shift.
Authorities say Richeal is also responsible for stealing another vehicle a week earlier. Both cars were eventually recovered.
Police pulled Richeal over Tuesday just after 1:00 a.m.. After a DMV check, police say they found out Richeal had a suspended drivers license and outstanding warrants from Buffalo, North Tonawanda and the Town of Tonawanda.
Detectives say Richeal has been on their radar since August 8 but they were unable to find him.
