BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Eric Fox, owner of Fox Tires in Buffalo, says every year around this time, like clock work, Western New Yorkers rush into his tire shop.
"As soon as there's a threat of snow, or the snow actually falls, which it has in this case. We get incredibly busy," he said.
Fox and his employees have been changing tires for almost two weeks straight. Some customers waiting up to 5 hours on the day of their appointments for service.
"It would have been better if a lot of our regular customers came in a month ago," Fox jokes.
Though lines are long, Fox Tire is servicing each customer that comes in because Fox believes snow tires are vital for the safety of drivers in the Buffalo area.
"I always say it like this, the worst snow tire is better than the best all season."
Snow tires are specifically designed for snowy conditions. With snow tires, drivers have a better grip of the road, are less likely to get stuck in snow piles or slip on ice.
"People have to get the tires they need them for their car, especially this time of year to be safe," Fox said.
