Tim Rigas, the son of former Buffalo Sabres owner and Adelphia Communications founder, John Rigas, is getting an early release from prison.

Rigas and his father were convicted on federal fraud charges in the mid-2000’s.

In a post on Facebook, John Rigas says his son will be allowed to finish his sentence at the family’s home in Coudersport, Pennsylvania.

Rigas credits a law passed last year for allowing his son to be released. The law allows non-violent offenders who are over the age of 60 and have served two-thirds of their sentences to get out of prison. Tim Rigas is now 63 years old.

John Rigas was granted an early release from prison in 2016 due to failing health.
