Four people killed in crash in Royalton identified

ROYALTON, N.Y. (WKBW) — The four people who were killed, and one person who was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on Tuesday around 3:15 p.m. in Royalton have been identified.

The crash took place on Orangeport and Slayton Settlement Road in the town of Royalton.

According to police, an RV struck a Chevrolet Cruze as it was traveling southbound on Orangeport Road. The RV allegedly failed to stop at an intersection stop sign and hit the Chevrolet Cruze as it was traveling westbound on Slayton Settlement Road.

Police say the driver of the Chevrolet Cruze, 20-year-old Austin W. Wilson of Wilson, New York, and two other passengers, 20-year-old Simon P. Fox of Medina, New York, and 21-year-old William Bernadt IV of Newfane, New York, were all pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and front seat passenger of the Chevrolet Cruze allegedly did not wear seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Police say the driver of the RV, 81-year-old Michael H. Duffy of Summerton, South Carolina was taken to ECMC with serious injuries. The passenger of the RV, 80-year-old Linda E. Duffy of Summerton, South Carolina was also taken to ECMC where she later died.

The crash is still under investigation. 7 News will update you as we learn more.
