Thousands of WNYers waking up without power following storms Tuesday night

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Thousands of Western New Yorkers woke up without power Wednesday morning following a line of severe thunderstorms that rumbled through overnight.

National Grid is reporting about 2,500 customers without electricity across Erie, Cattaraugus and Allegany counties. The utility company expects to have power restored in Erie County by Wednesday afternoon. They expect to have it back online for Allegany and Cattaraugus county customers later in the morning.

NYSEG is also working to restore power to more than 800 customers in the Erie County. They expect to have the it back on by 8:00 a.m. Wednesday there.
