BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Several salons and barber shops in Buffalo say they have been the target of thieves this past month.

“Our tools were taken. TV’s taken. Our whole booking system,” said Rachel Casey, owner of Rust Belt Barbering & Salon on Elmwood and Bryant.

Casey says her business was targeted Monday. The single thief, caught on surveillance video made off with electronics and other items around 4:00 a.m.

She says the business was then broken into again in the early morning hours of Tuesday.

“Enough is enough,” she said.

Casey says the suspect first came in without a mask, but made several trips inside and video was able to capture what he looks like.

This isn’t the only break-in to a local salon.

Less than a mile away on Main Street, two weeks ago, Simply Hair Salon was hit. The thieves making off with other electronics.

“The TV off the wall, the tablet that we use for appointments,” said Steven Daniels who works at the salon.

While detectives still work on this case, Daniels says replacing the items isn’t easy.

“Yes we’re insured, but the inconvenience is still there,” he said.

Down the way on Main Street at House of Masters Grooming Lounge, burglars took the same things in early January four times in one week, says owner Sean Thompson.

Buffalo Police say they’re actively working these cases and do have some leads. Detectives say in the case of the Rust Belt burglary, they’re on to a suspect.
