BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Did you know Buffalo was home to the second oldest women's club in the nation?

The Twentieth Century Club at 595 Delaware has been a historic place in Buffalo since 1894. Back in a time when Buffalo was a billionaire's city, woman did not have places to go or places for themselves.

The Club was created to be a place for woman to learn, socialize, and help promote their worth in society. The Club sticks with that tradition and hosts lectures, events, meetings every month for members today.

"For a woman to challenge the status-quo of the time, you have to remember before woman did not have the right to vote they were not really thought of to be advanced in anyway," Toni Louden, The 20th Century Club Historian said. "This club actually highlighted so many talented woman at the turn of the century."

People can check out the club's website and information on membership here.
