BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Boys and Girls Club of Buffalo kicked off their 2 Pack a Backpack school drive at Blue Cross Blue Shield August 14. BlueCross BlueShield employees donated more than 2000 backpacks for the drive. Each backpack will be filled with school supplies for K-12 students at no cost.

"If you don't have the right supplies when you start the first day, you might get bullied, you might get teased, you feel uncomfortable and you don't feel confident," CEO of Boys and Girls Club of Buffalo Shari McDonough said. "So, we think by having everybody start off the school year on the exact same foot means the world to these kids."

Every Boys and Girls club member of Western New York will receive a backpack filled with supplies ranging from pens and pencils, to calculators and filler paper.
