Teachers in your neighborhood: how much do they make?

ALBANY, N.Y. (WKBW) — Teachers in New York state are the highest paid in the country. The median salary for a teacher over the course of 2002-2017 in the Empire State is $79,587.

The lowest paying state for teachers is South Dakota.

These numbers come from the Rockefeller Institute of Government, a SUNY thinktank.
