BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — While most Buffalo locals were stuck inside finding fun things to do while snowed-in, quite a few brave souls were able to make it outside and enjoy the elements.

“If you’re able to convince yourself to come out in these kind of conditions, tell me what you’re going to do today, everything seems possible at that point," said David Hooper, who found himself "rucking" with a group from Ruck 716.

Ruck 716 is a local club composed of people who enjoy exercising with added weight... usually a 30 to 35 pound ruck sack. They train in all temperatures for what they call "Go Ruck Events" which are military appreciation endurance events. Sunday combined a 10 mile sprint/hike with other calisthenics, all while wearing a weighted backpack.

Others found themselves sledding and cross country skiing through Delaware Park.

“You warm up, I’m plenty warm right now, just enjoying then beautiful scenery," Jody Hanson said. “Just get out and enjoy, mix it up do something you don’t normally do, get the dog out, go out with friends, take a walk, it’s not bad out here.”
