BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The West Seneca Central School district investigated rumors spreading on social media Friday.

Tweets surfaced claiming the West Middle School principal made young children remove their bras and under garments to make sure they were not carrying vaping devices.

The superintendent for schools released the following statement to 7 Eyewitness News:

"The district takes seriously all concerns related student well-being. Once we became aware of the reports that were made on social media, we immediately conducted a thorough investigation. Following our investigation, we have found these claims to be unsubstantiated and completely without merit."
