BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — It was a Christmas mass unlike any other - only 25 people maximum are allowed at places of worship, and at Saint Joseph's Cathedral it was a full house.

Reverend Sean Fleming delivered a moving sermon on resilience, worship and family.

"I was very grateful his sermon. It was special today because our daughter had passed away recently," said Jim Williams. "We've been parishioners for almost 18 years now we enjoy coming here. We feel this is one parish that we can find peace."

"Family is very special this year because we can't get together with all our family," said Kathleen Phalen. "I appreciate being able to come to the cathedral because I missed out on signing up for reservations for all the other churches. So this is a very special year."

The cathedral was prepared to make sure it was safe, by adding sanitizers, blocking off pews and offering face masks.
