ALLEGANY, N.Y. (WKBW) — St. Bonaventure University President Dr. Dennis DePerro tested positive for COVID-19 on Christmas Eve.
According to a release from the school, DePerro is being treated in the hospital after contracting pneumonia from the virus. He is being treated at a hospital in Syracuse.
“I’ve started to feel better the last couple of days and can’t thank the hospital staff enough for the care I’ve received,” said Dr. DePerro in a release from the school.
The provost and vice president of Academic Affairs, Dr. Joseph Zimmer, will temporarily take over the day-to-day leadership of St. Bonaventure.
